The Unity Center of Northeast Ohio is a Shia masjid serving the greater Cleveland and Akron regions. Founded in 2004 from a conglomeration of three communities practicing under the Ja'afri Fiqh, the masjid found a permanent home in 2018 in Northfield, Ohio. Programming is offered in English, Arabic, Farsi and Urdu. Our mission is to serve the Muslims and humanity at large within our community. We look forward to welcoming you to our masjid!

Dua Kumail
Recitation of Dua Kumail, as well as Hadith Kisa, Dua Faraj and Surah Jummah, is held Thursday evenings at 7:30 over Zoom. Please join using this link.

FAQ
Is Jummah prayed at the Center? Currently, due to lack of an Imam, there is no weekly Jummah prayer.
Will the center have any programming during Ramadan evenings? There is usually a sponsored Iftar on Fridays and Saturdays. Other nights, the masjid is open for potluck Iftar. (Please contact the board if you are interested in sponsoring.)
Will I find people of my ethnicity/nationality at Unity Center? Probably! People from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds regularly attend events at the Center. Even if you find you look different from or speak differently from others here, you'll find our community is excited to welcome you!
Why don't I hear my language at masjid programs? We rely on members of each language group to contribute recitation and speeches at masjid events. If you do not hear your language spoken, it is because there was no one available to represent that language. Our goal is to make every event as inclusive as possible, please participate if you are able, and encourage members of your community to do the same.
